Medical Policies
Students are not allowed to have any medication in their possession at any time. Students who violate the medicine policy are subject to disciplinary action. If you have any questions, please call the school nurse at 645-3226.
In either situation, students will come to the nurse's office to receive these medications. The nurse will keep a log of all medications dispensed to the student.
PRESCRIPTION MEDICINES:
If a student is required to take medication prescribed by a physician, a physician's written order must be brought to the office by the parent/guardian with the medicine.
NON-PRESCRIPTION MEDICINES:
If a student must take non-prescription medication during school hours, the parent must bring the unopened sealed container with the medicine to the front office and fill out the proper forms.
PICKING UP MEDICINES:
At the end of the school year (or if the student withdraws/transfers from MCHS), the medications can ONLY be picked up by a parent or guardian. Medications will NOT be given to the student to take home. Any medications not picked up by the final day of school will be destroyed.
