Need to Know
ALL SENIORS WALKING THE LINE ARE REQUIRED TO BE AT GRADUATION PRACTICE ON THURSDAY, MAY 22ND! You cannot participate in the graduation ceremony that night if you are not at practice.
-
At 8:00, all seniors should be seated in the Little Theater - there will be nametags on the chairs, so find your seat in alphabetical order (except for Top 10 - you'll be on the front row).
-
Practice should be over by 9:30 IF we are able to get everyone seated quickly and run through the full program.
-
NOTE: You do NOT need to wear your cap and gown for practice.
If you are in an honor society:

IF WE ARE ON THE FOOTBALL FIELD:
-
The gates will open at 5:30. Those who are in wheelchairs or cannot climb bleachers should bring lawn chairs to be seated on the track area. Everyone else will be first come, first served, with no saving seats.
IF WE ARE IN THE GYM (inclement weather):
-
The doors will open at 5:30. Those family members you requested seating for will be seated on the gym floor in a reserved section nearest the entrance. Those in wheelchairs should ask an usher for their seats. Everyone else will be first come, first served, with no saving seats.
-
Make sure you have completed the form here JUST IN CASE we are in the gym.
-
On graduation night, you should be seated in the Little Theater by 6:30. No family members will be allowed into the school building if we are outside. All family members should enter the football stadium and be seated there.
-
Just a reminder that caps CANNOT be decorated in any way. This is school policy and has been endorsed by School Superintendent Greg Martin. If you arrive with a decorated hat, you will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony.
-
At 6:55, seniors will exit the Little Theater and proceed to the football fieldhouse gate. Seniors will walk to the left of the football field and down to the track to the 50-yard line. You will be in two lines, and will walk down to the chairs to be seated.
-
During the ceremony, you will receive the diploma cover only. Following the ceremony, you will be able to pick up the actual diploma, your final report card and transcript and various other items as you exit the field.
-
Graduation is always a spirited and emotional event. We ask that family and friends please honor the importance of the event and refrain from inappropriate remarks or catcalling during the receiving of the diplomas.
PLEASE MAKE SURE FRIENDS AND FAMILY KNOW TO NOT FLOOD THE FIELD IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE CEREMONY. YOU WILL HAVE THE RECESSIONAL OFF THE FIELD, RECEIVE YOUR DIPLOMA PACKET, AND THEN BE RELEASED.
-
NO ONE is allowed on the football field except for seniors, faculty and administration during the graduation ceremony. Only pre-approved media photographers may enter the field; journalists will be given a press badge to wear. Note that photographers who are ‘paid’ to be on the field will not be allowed unless they work for a news media outlet, and will be required to wear a press badge.
