What to Wear

EXPECTED DRESS

Do NOT put ANYTHING (signs, symbols or words of any kind) on top of your mortarboard. We will have extras for you to wear if you show up with a mortarboard (cap) that has been decorated in any way.

Anyone who does not meet the school dress code will NOT be allowed to walk the line.

If you attempt to iron the gown, use a very LOW heat setting as the material will melt and/or scorch. It is better to hang the gown in the shower and let the steam work on any wrinkles, or use a steamer.

MEN

Must wear a button-down shirt with tie (see photo), dress slacks or dark jeans with NO holes and dress shoes.
Boots are okay as long as they’re neat.
Shirt does NOT have to be white; colors are fine, but should not clash with the royal blue gown.
NO SHORTS, TENNIS SHOES OR FLIP FLOPS.

LADIES

Must wear a dress / skirt, dress pants or dark jeans with NO holes and dress shoes. School dress code applies. NO SHORTS, TENNIS SHOES OR FLIP FLOPS.

NOTE:

If graduation is on the football field, walking on grass in heels is NOT fun!
The mortarboard should be FLAT across the top, not angled. Fold the front flap under if you have ‘big’ hair.

TDOE: Student Records and Confidentiality:
Student directory information for eleventh (11th) and twelfth (12th) graders shall be made available upon request to persons or groups which make students aware of occupational and educational options, including official recruiting representatives of the military forces of the state and the United States. The school shall annually notify parents that the school releases the names, addresses, and phone numbers of secondary students to military recruiters and institutions of higher education unless parents opt out.
