Nine MCHS students were recognized for exceptional community service following the recent storms that devastated our community.

As you know, our community was hit by a tornado on April 3 that resulted in significant damage to the homes of many of our students and their families.  Our teachers and students didn’t hesitate, but stepped up to help wherever they could.  Today, we are recognizing those students who went above and beyond to offer their help to the community.  McNairy County Mayor Larry Smith presented a proclamation to each student from the Tennessee Senate, signed by Senator Page Walley, Representative Ron Gant, and Speaker of the Senate Randy McNally.  Mayor Smith also presented each with a proclamation from the McNairy County Mayor's Office.

Haley Stanfield, Parks and Recreation Director for the McNairy County Ag Event Center, presented three students with Exceptional Community Service Awards for 100+ hours during the week following the storm:  Grace Ann Prince, Cooper Teague and Jake Wardlow.  Students receiving plaques for working 40+ hours during the week following the storm were Hayes Teague, Kenlee Atkins, Macee Gilbert, Jaxon Rutledge, Noah Williams and Ben Nash.  Mayor Smith and Mrs. Stanfield are pictured with the students honored.
