Basketball Cheer season begins the week before Thanksgiving.  Regular season ends in mid-February, but can go through to spring break in late March if the team(s) are winning. Cheerleaders will cheer for both girls and boys home games.  Away games will depend on the number of squad members.  

On home game days, students are expected to be at school, dressed and ready for the game by 5:20.
On away game days, students will stay after school. A meal is provided and all students will ride the bus to the game.  Students may ride home with a parent/guardian.

DATES TO REMEMBER

• April 3 @ 3:30 - UNIFORM FITTING w/Varsity

  • Uniform Sizing: Will order any NEW items at this time; all USED items should already be arranged BEFORE you come

  • Parent Meeting - after the fitting to discuss fundraising, camp apparel and camp information.

  • A $100 deposit for camp will be required at the Parent Meeting. 

• April 14 - April 25 Poppin’ Popcorn Fundraiser

  • Profit will be applied to the balance due for camp. This fundraiser is OPTIONAL.
• April 28 - Cheer Calendar

  • You will receive a copy of a calendar, both digital and printed, that can be used to request donations from family members.  

  • Any amounts received should be used toward uniform expenses.

  • This fundraiser is OPTIONAL.

• May 15  6:00 - 8:00 pm Junior High Prom

  • Formal prom for 6-8 graders.  

  • All cheerleaders are expected to be in attendance to help decorate and clean up after.  This money is used for transportation and food before the games, and other expenses throughout the year. 

  • A parent or guardian may attend in your place (especially for incoming freshmen). 

  • This fundraiser is REQUIRED.

• July 21-23, 2025 Summer Camp

  • Camp attendance is mandatory for all cheerleaders. If you cannot attend camp, you need to talk to Ms. Forsythe BEFORE tryouts.

  • Cheer camp is at Camp Clark Williamson in Humboldt, TN from 1 pm Monday - 12 pm Wed.

  • Cost is $200 per camper. 

PRACTICE

Practice will be every Wednesday from 3:15 p.m. to 4:30 p.m, beginning September 3, 2025. The only exception will be early dismissal days or as announced beforehand.

ADDITIONAL COSTS:

Each cheerleader will be responsible for all costs associated with being a member of the cheerleading squad. The costs shown below are approximate.  Uniform costs: blue uniform, white uniform, mock uniform, wind suit jacket and pants, shoes, bag - estimated cost for new purchases $1,100)
