The 2020-2021 school year will hold many challenges as we try to navigate our way through the pandemic. The McNairy County School System is dedicated to providing your child with the safest learning environment possible.

We hope you will feel safe sending your child back to school, but if you have concerns about doing that yet, we urge you to consider the reConnect program. At MCHS, students who follow the reConnect program are enrolled in the classes they registered for last spring. They will be under the care of those regular classroom teachers. Teachers will be responsible for making classroom content available to students, and will remain in contact with the student on a regular basis. Students will be responsible for completing all assignments in a timely manner, and submitting those for teacher review. This allows for the student to stay on pace with those students attending in person, and gives the student the option to re-enter the building at the point you feel it is safe to do so.

Students following reConnect will need reliable Internet access and/or weekly visits to the school to turn in/pick up materials.  Teachers will use a variety of resources, including but not limited to the Google Classroom, Edmentum, USATestPrep, A+ and many others. Hotspots are being provided at various locations around the county to provide free WiFi access; when that is available, parents and students will be able to drive and park at those locations.  We will provide information about that as more information becomes available.

It is VERY important that students check their school email on a daily basis throughout this time.  It will be very helpful for teachers to also have parent email addresses for communication.  Following are some resources that students and parents can use to begin preparations for this new school year:

Though students will need a laptop or chromebook with internet access, there are several FREE apps for mobile phones that will be useful.
